In my 99 LPT and 00 Aero (both 4AT), if I'm feeling it clearly through the steering wheel stopped in D, or at all in P/N, it says to me it's time for plugs and/or Techron in the tank. I also clean out the TB once in awhile (old habit from the NG900 days, tho those were not by-wire).
I got both used; it seems my LPT already had the idle speed bumped up before I got it. There's a very clear difference in the 50-100 rpm idle blip.
I can't speak to the 02+, maybe it has even lower idle, so much is 'on the edge' for emission's sake.
