My 03 Aero idles roughly. The RPMs hold constant, but the engine surges and pulses. I had them bump the idle speed up by 50 and it helped, but it can't be called smooth. It has occasional "blips" that startle me when I am at a long light. AC on or off it is about the same. I remember reading an article a while back in an auto mag talking about big turbos causing "lumpy idle characteristics." I just attribute it to that, because it is more palatable when attributed to a large turbo (reminds me it is there.)
My 99 base 9-3 has an idle that is smooth as glass, even though the engine mounts have to be shot by now.
