I switched to 0W-40 and noticed over the last 3 oil changes that I was using oil and needed to keep topping up over the course of the 5,000 mile interval. Used about a quart between changes. So I switched back to 5W-40 at last change and I am not using oil now. I'm in NY, so for the winter I might go back to 0W-40.
