I thought Saab had fixed this..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Dash squeak, estophile, Fri, 6 Oct 2006 17:12:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 2000 9-5 with this same problem. Some time in the distant past there was a Technical Service Bulletin with instructions and photos on how to eliminate this problem. I saw it on-line once but can no longer find it, or any reference that it ever existed!
Regardless, the fix in the old TSB was to remove the dash panel - the wood veneer portion only. Place five or six 1-inch wide strips of adhesive backed felt on the dash panel support - the photos showed where to place these strips. Replace the dash panel. Sounds simple.
I have a sheet of adhesive backed felt, just never removed the cover to see where I might place the strips. Someome posted photos a week or so ago of replacing their dash mounted cup holder which showed what the dash looks like with the cover removed.
One more great thing about these cars you haven't encountered yet is their very long life.
