I have the same exact symptoms, same Akebono with new Brembo, and had the same exact symptoms with new PBR and original rotors. Slightly better now 200 miles later than when installed. In fact, I found your post trying to trouble shoot the issue (is the power booster failing??) My wife and I joke about the brakes on this car! Don't know WHAT would happen if we needed a panic stop. It is one heavy monster, but with no upgrade from the sedan's brakes. That's WHY we went with the Akebonos, hoping for better initial grip (according to their spec sheet).
I cleaned the new rotors with both dish detergent and then denatured alcohol. Gentle break-in. What gives? Not enough swept area?? I suspect original equipemtn pads had higher coef. of friction. On the other hand, everything else is failing on the car, so what the heck.
There are some EBC green pads out there for Saab which have significiantly higher coefficient of friction; you may want to investigate! Motorcyclists love them. Problem is they won't give the same mileage.
