Retrofit addition of LATCH or Tetherpoint in 9-5 wagon?

A co-worker mentioned that some car manufacturers will do a retro-fit installation of a L.A.T.C.H. or tether points for a child safety seat (some will do it for free). Does anyone know if SAAB will do this??
I have an 01 9-5 wagon SE, with 2 child seats (one front facing, one rear facing) and the rear-facing one is currently using the Australian method of attaching the tether strap to the tether point in the trunk/rear (just behind rear seat). If you look at this, the tether straps go around the rear facing seat and over the back of the rear seat. While a legitimate method of attaching car seats, it has recently come under fire for lack of stability in a rear end accident. The Swedish method is preferred (tether point down on the floor around the footwell). Obviously, the LATCH is preferred.
Has anyone here ever looked into this?
