This info was from the Britax white papers as Britax as a company is moving away from endorsing Australian method.
The tether point on the front facing seat is actually the one that works just fine. I have no issues using that one.
Its the rear facing one (also Britax Marathon) that requires the use of the Australian method. I would have preferred the Swedish method (tether points down in the foot well) for the best 'security' (impossible due to no anchor points down there). If you grab the rear facing seat you can pull it toward the trunk area if you are secured via australian method, whereas you cannot with Swedish method.
My 95 GMC Jimmy, was able to use teh seat mount bar as its tether point for the swedish method.
Brian G. I'm 6'9", 270lbs, and had my full weight on the car seat as the belt was tightened.... yet, I'd still like to have the tether points in use.
