Of course, it's all on a four wheel drive elk hunting and so forth. My Saab manual says not to use chains as such. There are similar devices I think are made of cable, and you might check those. Here are tips for chains: 1) Get suitable tighteners to go with the chains; 2) practice in your driveway with chains and tighteners. If the chains have one simple fastener, like a plain hook, and a more complex one, put the simple one on the inside. 3) Keep coveralls, a flashlight and gloves with your chains. You will probably end up lying in whatever is out there to put them on. 4) Have a suitable waterproof container to put them in when you take them off, and don't forget to take them out and dry them when you get to your destination. They rust. Happy motoring!
