Atul,
Thanks for the kind words.
Lights wouldn't have helped in this matter....or on this stretch of road, ever. Only my Aero brakes (and my Spidey Sense) kept me from doing the same thing to the idiot in front of me.
You know the time laspe film techique -- speed up everything in the frame -- then slow it down -- then speed it up -- etc. Well that's what it looks like on this 12 lane portion of Interstate(s) 75 and 85.
Add some steep rolling where you momentariy loose sight of the cars ahead of you and some surprisingly challanging curves (at 90 for the Aero and at 65 for your avg car).
How we can go from 75mph to a dead stop 3 to 4 times in the space of about a half mile is beyond me.
If we'd do a better job merging and allowing others to change lanes, things would be fine. But we speed, tailgate, cut people off, brake WAY to late and too hard, drive on the shoulder and anything else we're entitled to do as generally bad drivers.
When I first drove in South Korea, Turkey and Egypt back in the 80s, I was shocked and nervous. But we're not too far behind them now.
