No you have a point. Traffic in the more afluent areas of Atlanta (white and wealthy) changes as the hours tick away. It starts with the Men racing to the office, then it's the construction worker's pick up trucks from 4 counties away (they left the house 2 hrs earlier), then the migrant landscping crews. Everything's cool until about 11:37 a.m. -- and that's when the women head out for lunch and some light shopping.
These are just the local residents.
There are thousands of offices concetrated within the same 10 mile grid. When these women are out in full force, the poor workers (who commute at least an hour each way) can't get from the parking garage to the bank and back without it taking their entire lunch hour.
Luckily these women find their way back home well before 5.
When I saw the damage to this woman's SUV I could tell she had overlooked the 6 lanes of non-moving red tail lights in front of her.
The way her grille and hood were damamged (they had to be pointed almost straight down at the time of impact) Probably very late and very hard on the brakes. She was so late she didn't have room to begin skidding...or she had some massive ABS system.
Worst part is seeing the SUV get bigger and bigger in my rearview. Not a damn thing I could do but grab my cell and start to dial 911.
