I also was at the car show this weekend. You must be a Portlander?
I'd tend to agree that most cars throughout almost all makes have gone to relying heavily on the info display for everything. So it might have alot of functionality but it's buried 2 to 4 layers deep and you've got to work your way through screens to get to it. I personally prefer buttons. For example, if I want to adjust the Bass or Treble, I don't want to feel like I'm reprogramming my PC I just want to turn a knob.
Overall I think many of the cars have lost that sense of interior style in the dashboard. What buttons do exist tend to be puny and at times even hard to read. I came away surprised to be appreciating my 01 9-5 interior even more. The wood is real, the buttons are big and high quality, and the instrumentation layout is elegant.
