Unfortunately, I cannot try to remove the negative battery terminal or check the battery because the car is at the dealer still. He told me that they ran diagnostics on it and the computer is broken. And not knowing anything about electrical systems (or much else about cars), there's not much I can do about it other than trust him.
I will follow up with the dealer though and find out what computer is having the problem; whether it's the main computer or the ABS module. If it is the main computer, should I leave it to the dealer to locate a used part or should I search for one on my own? At this point, I've left it to the dealer and it's taken a month and a part still hasn't been found. I'm worried it could be a few more months before anything is found.
If it is just the ABS module that is broken, what would the impact of that be? Just that the ABS brakes wouldn't work or does it have an impact on other braking functions or systems?
Thanks for all the help.
