Mine has been very reliable for years - now 100K miles.
I have used/abused & tuned it frequently.
One often forgetten benefit of the 99 is the engine block.
The 99 9-5 had the bulletproof 9000 block (albert with different pistons).
Later 9-5 engines were slightly lightened - less block ribbing for cost & maybe weight reasons.
