In my 9-5, I have a Garmin suction mount for my Quest2 that I install low and just to the right of center, so that the arm of the unit is to the right of the sensor in the center of the dash, even when the unit faces the driver. The lever for the suction cup just touches the surface of the dash when the mount is locked onto the glass, with the arm about parallel to the top surface of the dash. In that position, the unit does not interfere with my line of sight. The wire to the power/speaker is kept relatively taught by running it down the groove near the vent and tucked under the plastic where it meets the carpet.
