Well I have a 99MY SW Linear 2.3lpt and an 05MY SW Arc 2.3T, and don't know a lot about the MY04s, just a lot about the wagon versions.

With the 05, I had a few weird things - baffle in the fueltank was causing a fuel gauge issue, and the gasket on the water pump had a minor leak (engine side, known as a problem by the foreman at my dealership).

Other than that, I love driving my wagons. Make sure you have roofrails on it, because the optional ones are both dorky and noisy. I have Thule boxes on both.

The Linear gets better mileage than the Arc, but the extra 50HP are handy when driving on long trips. I miss the weatherband on the 05, and the paddles for shifting just aren't the same as the old 5-speed I had in my MY95 900S or MY00 9-3.

Watch for weird wear patterns on the rear tires, notably on the inboard side, and make sure they are rotated often. There seems to be something with the toe and camber spec, which makes handling tighter but wears the tread more on the inside. Its minor, unless it gets out of hand.

By the way, most people the 99 is the newer one, perhaps because it is black. But I don't care!
