We've had two 9-5 wagons, both leased. We had an '01 2.3t Linear wagon, and have five more months on our lease on an '04 2.3T Arc wagon. We've enjoyed both cars, and have had minimal trouble.
Had the predictable failure in the serpentine belt on the '01, still waiting for the '04 to go (have 47K on the car).
The '04 seems somewhat hard on tires. I was apprehensive when I saw the Pirelli P6s on it new, and my fears were well-founded. I pulled them off and installed a set of Kumhos, but they haven't worn very evenly- both fronts essentially gone in 20K. I'm now running two of the old but still sound Pirellis and the two good Kumhos on it, trying to make it until turn-in.
Our only real complaint with the '04 is the Sentronic. This is the first automatic we've ever had, and it's been a disappointment. We took it in the first place because the dealer could locate no manual transmission wagons at the time. They are on notice that if they can't supply us with an MT wagon this time, we'll be driving a different brand of car for the first time in 35 years.
