I wouldn't say this is a DIY job but some have done it so there you have it. Do you feel lucky?
Some DIY people are able to rebuild their engines or transmissions and some have to ask where the oil drain plug is so it is hard to tell what's DIY or not.
It is quite painstaking to snake the old sensor out and release it from the clips holding it to a pipe on the short end of engine block, AND get the new one in and secured.
I also have to remove a heat shield and turbo bracket from below to get to the sensor.
Somewhere below $200.00 for parts and labor and fault tracing is a good guess.
No real Saab shop with honor would just throw in a sensor because someone read it on the internet being the problem ;o)
But it usually doesn't take that long to heat up the car and measure the resistance if you have an inkling that that might be the problem.
