Should last 7 years or so..... The battery replacement should last 7 years or so since you will be replicating the original factory installation. With two caveats.
1) The batteries must be fresh. Old batteries purchased from a low volume source may be nearly as weak on install as the batteries you are removing.
2) Life expectancy also depends upon the skill of the person soldering the new batteries into position. A lousy solder job may result in the battery losing contact in a few weeks, or it may never work!
Another thing to remember is that you will be performing a repair that was never intended to be done - by anyone! So far my repair has been fine, although I did recieve one random message that caused me to pull the siren out of the car and re-do my solder joints. I also added a block of foam to the inside of the siren cover to help hold the batteries in position and relieve strain on the small solder points.
I believe the correct batteries have the -SEFT suffix. This will get you the batteries with the cirsuit board tabs attached. Two solder pins on one tab, and a single solder pin on the other.
