Initially I didn't use any, hence the "Service Theft Alarm" message I received about a month later. When I re-opened the box to inspect/clean/touch-up my solder work I used a little of the same RTV on the batteries that I used on the case joint. And added the foam block.
My original batteries were expoxied to the circuit board with more glue than was really necessary. Others have reported very little original glue, and some reported what sounds like more than what I found.
The batteries are very light weight, but still need more than the three pin points of solder as a means of securing.
