Almost every success that Saab has had is a miracle, that’s not to say they just throw a product together it is saying that a car from a small country in a small town can make a big difference in the industry. Go to the Saab web site many of the tinges they pioneered are taken for granted in most cars now. The good thing is the innovation continues look at the 9-x, it has that 5 children engine that can run on tons of fuels it is 40% more efficient then comparable v6 engines. and last I heard the 9-x was well liked by the GM bosses.
look at Saab ads, Saab does not advertise "wow new model its so hot wow" they advertise "Saab has one blah award drive one", "people who test drive a Saab usually buy one", "you can save blah amount on a car you will love". These ads are great because they separate Saab from other companies, Saab dose not want to sell cars to people because the rich guy on the corner drives one. Saab would rather sell a few well built cars then allot of shity or average ones.
I would like to see the Saab employees get together and buy back a piece of the company to ensure that Saab stays Saab. I think the workers at MG, or another English brand, did this. as far as GM owning all of just a part of Saab it is best for Saab, it gives Saab more brawn. American brawn, Swedish brains. Remember GM made the purchase to gain a European brand they are not going to take the European out of it.
