Low Boost - Mid Yellow on a 2000 95 Aero Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Sun, 22 Jul 2007 15:06:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I need some ideas regarding an intermitten condition on my 2000 Aero, manual, 274K miles....
Intermittenly, the boost gauge will only go to mid-scale in the yellow; otherwise, it crisply moves in to the low end of the red. Once, it failed for a week....then suddenly started working correctly.
When it's failing, I disconnect the wastegate actuator hose; then, I get lots of boost immediately. I stop, reconnect the hose, and everything works normally (normal boost that is)...until the next failure occurrence which could be a day or a few days later.
To-date, the following has been done with no change in symptoms:
1. boost control valve has been replaced
2. oxygen sensors replaced
3. bypass (hooter) valve replaced
4. all vacuum lines for bypass valve, bypass control solenoid replaced
