Saab is in the same position Audi was 8 years ago..

The fix is to make a dynamite new entry-level car. Audi came out from near
oblivion here with their great A4 in 1994. Then people started to consider the A6, TT, etc. and now Audi's on a roll. I wouldn't be suprised if new A4 sales will eventually surge pass the 3 series, espec. in the snow belt.
Saab's new entry-level 900 sedan next year is absolutely critical for them.
Much more so than the lower-volumed 9-5 or any SUV. By neglecting the 9-3
for this long, they may have created a crisis of sorts.
Don't get me wrong, the 9-3 is a great car (I have one). But new buyers
in the crucial entry-level segment have many good choices, and the 9-3 is
losing out in many cases.
