I took my wife's 2003 9-5 Aero in today for the 60K service. I laid out the service manual on the seat and it was signed off by the mechanic. They changed the plugs, cabin air filter, brake fluid, oil/filter, air filter, rotated tires, etc. However replacement of the serpentine drive belt was extra. I had them replace the belt (which is the new short belt standard that bypasses the middle large idler pulley). I also had them replace the upper idler pulley based on recommendations I read here on TSN.
The engine seems to be just as smooth as before with the original long belt.
