34.6 mpg with studded tires? NO WAY.

So I got my studs on this weekend, drive girlfriend to the airport and am now averaging almost 35mpg per computer. I know this is inccorrect. The studded tire size is 195/65/R15 which is smaller than the regular tire size. Is there a way to tweak the car to read mileage properly?
Strangest thing: I filled up with mid-grade gas last night and the car is running at 2300 rpm as opposed to 3000 when I do 70 mph. Have done 110 miles today and there is not a dent in the gas gauge. So I'm a bit confused on all of this. Any ideas?
