Nope - I'm dug in on this one, Saab is responsible under warranty obligations to find the problem and fix it. My point in posting is IMO if they had any sense and/or sensitivity to customer satisfaction - Saab or the dealer, they would agree to replace the likely culprit, the CPS, as you point out is relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. Or they could agree to let me buy it and install it - them reimburse me if it solves the problem. Instead they offer to do nothing to get the problem resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.
So I'll let them tow the thing as many times as it takes and have them provide loaners or cab reimbursement. Pretty stupid of them to spend hundreds maybe thousands in this manner, but to me it's clear that if their process cannot allow intelligent decisions geared towards solving customer issues, then they have a broken model. Likely it's the GM influence and not the Saab model, and it's indicative of the mess the American auto industry finds itself in.
