I had a 92' Nissan Maxima SE which I drove for about 50K. In those 50K and 4 years I replaced a battery,Window reg, and basic maintaince. The only major issue was with the notorious Variable Timing sprokets that made it sound like a diesel when I sold it. After that 30K trouble free miles in a 528i..
My 99' 9-5 V6 has been completely different. I totally love the saab driving experience, and you will certainly enjoy every minute of it when all is working...
I got the car july of last year at 89K and am currently at 112k...in that time ive had wheel bearings, fuel pump, battery,a blend door for the A/C, a/c blower and as I speak a used transmission is being installed (which apparently is rare). I think its really good to know who had the car before, and you can get the warranty history from saab (called the Iris Report). Forget calling the customer service line for this, call a local dealers service dept.
After being punched in the wallet by this car many times this year, i still love driving it..however my eyes are certainly looking a newer 5 series..which they do make a nice wagon for...
Best of luck..
