I am looking at an 05 Aero Sportwagon, it is a CPO car w/29 k on it, but the IRIS report indicates first and only service at 24 k. From what I can tell it was a leased car. Question is, if the car did not see the first oil change until 24k, how much gunk is in the motor? Are these cars still sludge prone?

From the cars I have been looking at, it seems there are a lot of leased cars that never saw an oil change, one had 39k on it, nothing at all on the IRIS report and the dipstick revealed a black coal tar substance with the consistency of molasses on it. That car was also precertified with a warranty for another61k/or 2 years.

Is it worth the risk, even if you have a CPO car? My concern is the damage already done, even though the cars run fine. Maybe I should forget any leased cars, CPO or not.
