I've installed the Saab Bluetooth kit in my 2007 9-5 Aero.
Next time I would probably opt for an aftermarket kit like you're considering; the savings makes it worthwhile.
A Saab-only cable is required if you do not have OnStar; Adapter TEL1 prep (SAAB part no. 32025900)....$13.00. This cable kit will give you a way of interfacing the Bluetooth kit to the car audio system, and powering the Bluetooth kit.
Also, you will need installation instructions (SAAB part no. 32025908) for the above. The Adapter TEL1 prep kit does not include instructions. If necessary, send me an email and I'll send you a copy of the instructions in a pdf file.
