TO ALLAN: Clarification regarding the cable for TEL1 Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Sun, 27 Jan 2008 14:28:30 In Reply to: Re: Motorola IHF 1000 vs. T605 vs. Saab bluetooth kit?, Allan, Sun, 27 Jan 2008 07:06:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Up through 2005 the 9-5 was built with the TEL1 cable whether you had OnStar or not. Dano in Texas used the TEL1 cable connector behind the ACC for his installation on a 2004 or 2005 9-5. You cannot; Saab stopped providing the TEL1 cable in 2006 unless you have OnStar.
The cable I referenced in my original post is the TEL1 cable with connector required if you do not have OnStar on your car and you have model year 2006 or later.
Note that installation of the TEL1 cable kit is done differently than the way Saab does it at the factory. Wire colors, routing and physical connection points differ. This is why I suggested emailing me to get the instructions that match the cable kit. Note that, electronically, the factory installation of TEL1 and the TEL1 cable kit are identical.
