The one in Savannah closed years ago. So did the one in Augusta (Cadillac dealer has since picked it up). I used to have to go to Columbia or Charleston or Hilton Head for warranty service. There are more Saabs in Charleston than any where in SC, so there is still a local market for service and parts. Saab has negotiated service contracts with qualified indies that are not dealers (Chapel Hill NC for instance). I know my indie here in Augusta considered it before the Saab dealer appeared.
They need to come out with some new competitive stuff soon, the 9-2 and 9-7 were bombs, the 9-5 and the 9-3 need replacement to boost sales. The dealers have to damn near give the cars away...and Hendrick has always been about making money...I can't blame them but I hope a service and parts center will open up in Charleston or maybe the Cadillac dealer will pick them up. Hope the good mechanics dont all leave town.
