I didn't realize that you could still roll in a new chain as with the older engines, then I looked a the WIS drawings and saw that the balance chain is driven by it's own sprockets and independently of the cam chain.
But I read the procedure on rolling in the new chain and it doesn't look all that well written with respect to making sure one keeps the alignments of the cranshaft and cams . I may take it to a shop after all.
