I was shocked (pun intended)... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: WOW --Seems unbelieveable, TG, Wed, 20 Feb 2008 06:43:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Although the Dealer gave me a verbal over the phone, both he and the Saab Indy insisted on seeing the car before booking the appointment because of high miles, need for spring/shock nameplate data, and possible need to order additional bits & pieces.
The car passed the jounce test on three corners, failing on driver's side rear. They then placed it on the lift to fully examine all parts of the front. I was surprised by the verdict, and realize I am only postponing the inevitable replacement of these pieces, but I am also postponing the expenditure of $1,000 or more too.
When I drop it off Friday morning for the rears to be installed I will ask for an estimate of remaining life in the fronts. I will probably have them flush the brakes for me too, and maybe check the timing chain wear.
