I find it's really tough to do "personal" mileage tests in winter....way toooo many variables.
Personally, I use 89 all winter long....figuring that with almost 100" of snowfall (this year) and all the idling, slow-go, stop-and-go type of driving, with snow tires...that anything over 89 octane is a waste of my money.
89 octane is "easier to start" for your SAAB than 91 or 93 octane if you live in cold temps...
Once the temps get above 50F on a regular basis, I'll consider switching up to 93...
The owners manual recommends premium above 70F (or is it 75F ?) to avoid spark knock.
