Good eye!

The 9-3 was when I was an outside salesguy, but it was still pretty much city and highway, but at higher speeds on the 400 series highways. However it was a five-speed stick, and I still preferred it to an auto - typically shifted from second to third most of the time around town.

I also ran a 900S, with a 2.3 regular aspiration engine on the highway, five-speed manual. About 7.5 litres per 100 km on the highway = 37 Imp mpg, and almost always less than 9 in the city (31 mpg). I drove it for 163000km before I completed the lease and went to the new 9-3. between 650 and 750 kms per tank, back when gasoline was cheap!

By the way, lifetime (Canadian) running costs on the MY99 9-5 are at 92 cents per kilometre, all in (loan, insurance, gasoline and maintenance, not including GMPP warranty items when covered), for 52343 km and 6297 litres, averaging 12.0 or 19.5 US mpg. It is paid off, so now its just insurance and maintenance.

For the MY05 9-5, which is leased, I am at 94 cents per km (lease, insurance, gasoline and maintenance, but not including warranty items).

Cheers from Toronto, where I actually built a backyard 20 foot by 20 foot rink for my boys, and we have been able to use it (I don't believe in global warming, yet!)
