Ok sort of a big update. I called the guy with the 04 arc wagon on ebay he kind of sounded like a shady car dealer and didn't really have much to say about his car. just "come in Saturday at 11 if you want a test drive Sunday we're closed, g'bye." Sounds like a typical used car lot to me, maybe I should keep my distance.....
the 2003 Saab dealer emailed me back this evening, and he said "actually this car is CPO until Hallowween 2009!" Good surprise.
I asked about the V6 belt 60k service/replacemant, and he said his records show that the belt was serviced, but he didnt see a replacement. (huh?!) Then I got another email saying to come in Saturday morning to discuss it (like maybe putting in a new belt as part of the deal?) The car has 86670 miles so the CPO would be for 13000 miles. I need to see it in daylight and I guess I can tomorrow but it will be pouring rain. If the engine was damaged by a faulty belt, wouldn't that have been obvious on my test drive? (I'm not exactly an expert at cars or Saabs but I am not a total noob)
