So I went back to the dealer, it was pouring in the northeast but he took the car in their "tunnel" so I could get a look in daylight. Looks great, the exterior and interior were in excellent shape. The SID though, has a few missing pixels and it said TIME FOR SERVICE. The pirelli tires had about half tread left. brakes I wasn't sure about, rotors looked a little older. I stuck my finger in the tailpipe and it was sooty. Engine had a hint of a knocking sound. The belt you could see, to the left of the valve cover looked good while it was moving if that means anything. The car is CPO (13k miles left) as this is the saab dealer one. Therefore although the mechanic was not there on saturday the salesman said for the car to be CPO, one would assume that all major service was done (belts and pulleys etc) but I will wait to see proof on monday. I told him I was ready to offer 10k but that was before he said it was CPO and he said that alone cost him $1500. He went to talk to the sales manager and took off 400 to 12498. I had to leave for the weekend so I said i'd think it over. The 400 won't cover the SID replacement. I didn't get to see the 04 yet like I wanted.
