The real answer comes to "Nobody seems to want guarantee the 100% of debris in the oil to be stopped by the oil filter".

Guarantee 100% stoppage, as is being offered here as fact, and you as a mechanic, or simply a citizen, you will be spending a lot of your time in court--losing your case (and your precious time and monies).

Air filters do not stop 100%....fuel filters do not stop 100%, and oil filters are no different.

I respect that parts are made all over the world, and that mechanics have their own ways of doing things.

I further respect that most all marques now offer the fine mesh screen, and not for the reasons offered here..."career engineering" or superfilous part that really does nothing--so it's ok to punch a hole in it.

Take a brand new 2008 SAAB 9-5, remove and reinstall the oil pan, punching a hole in the pickup screen, and see if your car would qualify for warranty repair work should you have engine failure, sludge, what-have-you.

The fine mesh screen there for a reason. No factual information has been offerred to the contrary--just opinions.

This may not be your belief, and fine by me, no problem here...but as my post offered, it is not MY recommendation to punch holes in it.

This is an exchange of ideas concept bulletin board, and its readers will take from it what they wish.
