I think we are grasping for straws to prove our opinion.
Why would you remove the oil pan and enlarge the holes on a 2008 9-5 still under factory warranty that is using fully synthetic oil?
Why would you do it on any car still under factory warranty, why not let Saab deal with those.
The ones that I deal with are the ones already rejected by Saab due to that the owner followed Saab's recommendations of changing the oil every 10K miles and couldn't understand that "one trip to church every Sunday" would be seen as severe driving conditions in Saab's eyes and nullify the warranty.
The ones I enlarge the holes in the screen are already severely sludged up throughout the whole engine and it will always be particles left in there that can clog the screen again unless you completely disassembly the engine and hot wash it.
That's a job that few owners go for but they want you to try to rescue what they have and get a few more miles out it or in sell able condition.
