And I don't think it's the blower motor, because it doesn't do this if the air is blowing in ECON mode with the compressor disengaged. I was sitting at a stop light idling in my 2001 V6 a couple weeks ago with the A/C running, and my mother (who is pretty much oblivious to car sounds) even said something to the effect, "why are we making so much noise?" I was hoping replacing the upper engine mount would help but it didn't do anything. It's a very prominent vibration that shakes the whole damn car and the sound that goes with it is a real low-pitched, low frequency (I can feel my ear drums moving) grumble. It's sort of like sitting in a riced out Honda with a fart-can exhaust on it idling. But it goes away as soon as the A/C is shut off or put in ECON. I have no idea what the hell it could be. I'll try taking a video of the sound, although I bet my digital camera's cheap mic won't pick it up. You're not the only one with this problem, unfortunately I also have no idea what's causing it.
