I don't own a 9-5 but I've been looking. My understanding is that the sludge issues were pretty much resolved by 2004 with the factory installed PCV #6 update and regular oil changes. I looked back at your post from when you bought this and you indicated that it had been previously serviced by the dealer you bought it from. Are you in fact having problems with sludge now? If so, what are the signs?
