Front Control Arm Bushings Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Wed, 22 Oct 2008 10:28:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
For those who have had their control arm bushings replaced (the rear ward hydraulic ones) what kind of improvements, if any, did you see in handling/driving feel? I was in over the summer complaining about how lousy my car handled and sounded going over bumps/humps. I got a swaybar link replaced and a bunch of swaybar bushings. He said the control arm bushings weren't urgent, but showed some cracking - I probably wouldn't see any noticeable improvements in handling so I skipped them. The car still handles like an Econo-van, just wishy-washy, bouncy and imprecise. The shocks and struts are fine. Some have suggested replacing these bushings have made their car feel entirely different and like-new. Mine are original with 182k miles on them. I am not interested in the poly-bushings as I think they'll be a little much on crappy CT roads. Thanks in advance.
