I have just about had it.. one %$#! thing after another... I can't begin to list it all that has happened to this car that I have read on this very helpfull BB so far.. 99 9-5 174K auto trans bought June 08.. love the way the car drives, handles, low wind noise, looks, comfort, overall much better feeling than my sister's 2 year old nissan altima I've been driving recently while I repair our other car..

But.. also hate the #$%! car.. I've spent just about the same on repairs than I paid for car less than a year ago.. $3K and that is with me doing most of the work myself.. except the 2 week ago tranny replacement for $1100 I hired out.. I love wrenching on cars and anything that moves, but this car is ridiculous.. wife's been driving the car since recent trany change... noticed large oil drops on driveway where she parks a few days ago that was not there before tranny replacement.. recent new un readable SID warning has come on that can't read due #%!$ed up SID... other day she's driving, oil light goes on.. starts ticking, she freaks out knowing all problems we've had stops at Napa they give her 10-30 non synthetic and they put in a quart and she leaves but is still low and light comes on again, she calls me after, tell her to get M1 0-40 to top it off which was remaining oil left in it, only have M1 10-30, puts a qt in and I check it and is slightly overfilled.. later that day says oil light goes on and off.. then seems OK for few days.. today comes home frantic, oil light on, smoking from tailpipe AND smoke from dipstick.. I'm ready to drive it into $#%! river..

before I do that, I would appreciate any other suggestions as to what may have happened and what to do to diagnose and make my final decision.. recent valve cover gasket replacemenr didn't see sludge..
