I can't be too compassionate for you since you rolled the dice and bought and installed the part yourself.
It is always a chance for a bad part and either you eat it or the shop that installed it eats it.
Asking and almost demanding that they test your car and replace the battery for free just because you bought the battery from them is too much.
On the other hand, if you had had them test and replace the battery the first time, they should be on the hook to fix it if the part turns out bad.
