You'll get more by parting it?

NADA guides pegs a base 9-5 with that mileage, auto trans, leather seats & no sunroof at over $5,500 ($4,200 for the car "Clean Retail" plus a bit over $1,500 for the low miles). Not that you'll necessarily get that, but it's a starting point of comparison. Shop around for estimates on the work, and make sure you include some independents that specialize in Saab (check the list here at TSN).

A CV boot (if that's what your talking about) is a labor-intensive job for a relatively cheap part. By the way, if you choose to have that done, have them change all the boots that can be accessed for the same disassembly. That way, you (or the subsequent buyer) won't be paying for the same labor twice.

AC parts can get expensive, and if you're having an issue with the HVAC flappers & shafts, that, too, could be a labor-intense proposition (I once dropped in on my local indy when he had the entire dash out of a 9-5 working on the HVAC...).

Certainly, if you were to sell the car "as-in where-is", you'd knock a chunk off that $5,500. But as others pointed out, parting a car is not for the faint of heart, nor is it for someone with limited mechanical skills (not that I know what your skills are...), and it is probably a long-tern proposition. By the time you've gotten it all gone, you'd likely have been better off selling it whole.

Parting is usually reserved for cars that have serious damage to the hull, or serious rust issues.

Also, you say the car is "cosmetically not a gem". THat can mean many things, but one thing I know is that a couple hundred bucks invested in a pro detailing job will bring more than that back in sale price. If it's got serious body work problems, though, that might be a tough sell.
