I am unsure the Saab springs are any weaker than others. The rear droops when heavily loaded, but no more so that any other passenger car I've had.

95% of the 60,000 Bilstein km was with the trunk empty and no more than 3 persons in the car. Of that the majority was with just me driving solo and no more than groceries etc. So the use over time has been moderate. The drive to the cottage is only 300 km round trip, and that is normally for 4 trips a year loaded to the gills.

If I can find my Shox.com invoice, I may call about a Bilstein warr. replacement. However, shipping and handling from the US to Canada even for a free or pro-rated replacement can be a downer. Way less than a new set of Koni FSD's of course!

I think crappy road conditions have a lot more to do with a shock's life than load... and our roads are not the best by a long shot. That is the main reason I am attracted to the FSDs.
