I had a spare from a used shifter assembly but it came off later model than 1999. glad I thought to check this morning BEFORE I pulled apart my car!
so, have to order a new switch $145 (yikes!) unless ScanTech is OK for $99?
so, after I am done, I'll have a used 00-08 ignition switch for VERY reasonable $ if anyone needs one now or in the future!
BTW. switch remove/fit is super easy, two torx....once you pull the ENTIRE shifter assembly out!!! HA!
and Anders of course is correct, the spring mech is in the elect switch, not the key barrel.
