overall, It was not hard. but I took my time and it did take a couple hours to get it all the way out. I had printed WIS instructions but still had to go on this site to search a couple tricks for some of the console removal portions. it all went back in about same time. all to get the ignition switch out! so...since I had done all that work decided to go ahead and swap my shifter cable with the used one I had bought 3 years ago. so that added a couple hours. hardest part of that job (since the shifter was already out) was getting the firewall grommet back in! what a bear. had to use 3' piece of PVC pipe to fit back in there and push on it while I guided with my left hand in behind the carpet behind the accelerator pedal. one nice bleeder on my index finger and I got it! the next hard item is getting the pin back in on the shifter to connect inside the ball joint of the shifter cable end. after that everything went back in quickly and smoothly.
only bad outcome was now I have 6 of my 8 heater/fan switch bulbs (the little $7 green ones) no longer working!!?! what gives? I was very gentle and careful with the switches. 6 of those pups will be another $40! yikes!
I also swapped my hood emblem and swapped my brake vacuum hose pieces out since I had the battery out already to get to the shifter cable. so, all this blew most all of my Saturday but figured I saved about $800+ in labor for all three jobs.
