1. Having just test driven the Aero and Arc and having pushed
them quite hard in those drives, I find the Arc to have the superior
driving feel. The Aero kept lagging on acceleration, was jittery
on rough roads, and shook upon hard braking. Arc was responsive
and smooth, very fast, very powerful, and definitely quieter. Fantastic
car.
2. As to the cassette player; anyone else out there use books on tape
for long drives or regular commutes? I've been on a Jack Kerouac
binge; just finished Big Sur, and I am almost done with the 8 tapes
of On the Road. It is way cool to be driving on the same stretches
of U.S. 1 on the California coast, listening to Kerouac rhapsodize
about the same views you are enjoying, while taking your Saab though
its paces. CD books are not yet plentiful, so my cassette player is
still extremely useful and a great source of pleasure.
