I hear you. Problem is wife and I currently own three cars, and were needing to get rid of one anyway. (We had been discussing selling it soon, other car we could sell is a 2003 TDI that probably has a longer lifespan) I really like the car, but fixing it and selling it vs. selling it as is looks like a wash. Either way I'm looking at a major financial hit, for me. It's also the oldest of our vehicles. Fixing it and keeping it will result in a less reliable fleet (maybe). I purchased the car less than a year ago, kind of as an impulse, and I paid too much for it then. I just don't think I can justify keeping her financially. Really sad to see her go though, definitely prefer driving her compared to the stodgy TDI.
Thanks for all the help on this.
