I know I'm not too helpful with my description. Thanks for your help.
Your comments basically echo my mechanic's. Lots of worn plastic guides, and really looking through the whole system for worn/damaged parts. He had only seen like one or two, too. His shop is primarily Saabs.
I have no idea how this happened. I noticed it driving on an exceptionally hot day. Could this have caused low oil pressure maybe? He thought low oil pressure at some point was the most likely. Although I've had the car less than a year and don't know.
Unfortunately this is beyond my level of competance. I really like the car, it drives great. But I don't think I can justify the repair cost considering its about the same as the value, and its not like it adds to the value of the car. Think I just lost a lot of money on this car.
